Water is Power

The clock is ticking on some 600 U.S. power plants that will be required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to repower or replace and/or modify their water intake systems to mitigate their impact on aquatic ecosystems, or face possible shutdown. Conversion to closed-loop systems -- the current best technology available (BTA) among the mitigation alternatives -- could cost the industry up to $100 billion (Electric Power Research Institute).

C-Water Technologies Inc. was formed in July 2010 by two successful clean energy entrepreneurs to commercialize AquaSweeptm Technology invented by CH2M HILL, Inc. that’s designed to meet or exceed regulatory requirements and cut the projected cost for conversion to BTA by up to 70%.

C-Water has implemented a fast-track strategy to accelerate R&D, line up regulatory, legislative, environmental and community support, partner with utility scale entities for field testing and launch a commercial sales effort. Experts are in place to lead initiatives in each of these areas. Financing is being secured to propel what is projected to be a billion dollar/year business in just the utility market, with potential to expand into other industries such as municipal water treatment, offshore oil & gas extraction facilities and desalination plants.
